Milk+T

Recently a Milk+T opened up in Beaverton, and let's talk about how magical this place is! It's a boba tea place that is run by women! First off it is the most affordable boba tea in the area. It's about $5.00, and if you bring the reusable jar it's 10% discount!!! Other places in our area run for about 6.50, and that's before toppings, and boba, but here they have a toppings bar. You get to pick what goes in the tea, and how much of it. This includes boba! I love boba. When you order you are able to adjust the sweetness level, so if you aren't into overly sweet drinks they have something for you. You can get ice cream in your tea for a $1.00 up charge, but we found that it made the drink too sweet and rich for us. It might be up your alley though, so give it a try. The decor is super trendy, and a lot of fun. They play fun music too, but it can be too loud for our old lady ears. Another down side is that Our location has no parking lot, so we have to park on the street, and walk down to it, but that isn't the end of the world. If you are in the mood, and you are in the neighborhood come check out the Beaverton Milk+T. It's a fun place to take friends, maybe go on a first date, or second! And definitely the best place to get your boba tea fix. So tell us what you think? Do you like boba tea? If so what are your favorite flavors, and toppings.

Thanks for joining us on this Dada Lane adventure. We gotta hit the road, but feel free to hitch a ride by following our new instagram, or check out the youtube channel. Till next time Dada Laners! Devin & Jessica.

Romantic strawberry short cake dream

Recipe give away! Romantic strawberry short cake dream!

With fire ban in effect that means no grilling for us, so here is a quick and cooling treat!

Ingredients:

1 doughnut (chocolate covered)

1 (single serving size) container Greek yogurt with raspberry on the bottom

6 (about) strawberries (halved)

Salt (to taste)

This couldn't be easier. Place a chocolate covered doughnut at the bottom of you bowl. Then dump a serving size Greek yogurt with raspberry at the bottom (mix it up first so it's pink). Over that dump halved strawberries, and sprinkle with salt. Enjoy with your favorite tea (hot, or iced)!

If you do try this recipe let us know what you think, and take pics and use the #DadaTreats on twitter

La Vida Veggie

Hey Dada Lane Enthusiasts! We stopped La Vida Veggie in Beaverton OR, and let us tell you about one of our new favorite vegan spots. That's right we said vegan. You may be asking us; are we vegan? And that's a big no, gentle readers, but one of our vegan friends took us, and we fell in love! IN LOVE I TELL YOU.... (Guess who had caffeine and is excited about vegetables?)

So the food is really really really delicious! It makes kale taste good, and spoiler alert we both hate kale. Though I did have a phase in college. Jessica did not. Maybe one day we will talk about that. Anyway back on track, Devin! Okay. There is something for everyone here. You can bring your non-vegan friends here. You can have your no meat Monday dinner here. It's awesome. Everything is super super yummy. Not only is the food yummy it's also pretty to look at, and it's really reasonably priced. The portions are insanely big too.

Not only is the food pretty, but the restaurant it's self is so so pretty. It's the cutest thing ever! The atmosphere is amazingly welcoming, and the people are really nice, and super helpful. There is so much seating for how small the place is. It's in this super cute neighborhood down the street from Beaverton's super awesome library/park. The is a down side to this is the parking is lacking, but La Vida Veggie is within walking distance of the library. However, because La Vida Veggie used to be a house it blends into the neighborhood. We found signage to be lacking. If you don't know what you are looking for you would drive right past it thinking it was a home. We drove past it twice this trip, and we had been their before. We wish the signs were a little bigger. That being said pop it in your GPS so you can find it easily.
As always let us know what you'd like us to see, try, or do next!

Ome Calli Frozen Treats

Before we get started we wanted to give a quick apology to Ome Calli for mistakenly thinking it was Puerto Rican ice cream in our video. When in fact it is Mexican. We are very sorry for that, and promise to do better moving forward. Now having gotten that out of the way let us tell you about how amazing this place is!
We first found out about this place at the Beaverton Night Market (there will be a video about this when it rolls around again). Where for $2.00 I had the yummiest mango chili ice pop, So good in fact that I ate three. Three! Anyway we knew then we had to cover this little mom and pop shop. You walk in the doors, and you are greeted by this wonderfulness.
All the ice creams, ice pops, and custards are made in house. You can get bold flavors like tamarind, corn, tequila, and Mexican chocolate. On top of all that they have vegan, and gluten free options. My favorite is the corn ice cream. While Jessica loves the tequila. However even though there so many awesome flavors you can only try one of them before you buy, so be selective, and bring a crowd of friends you don't mind sharing spoons with.

There is no seating which is bummer, but I don't know many ice cream shops that do have seating. So if you are in the area, and want to try something new you should check out Ome Calli! When you do, don't be afraid to let us know what you think!

This is Devin, and Jessica signing off for now. We gotta hit the Dada lane. See you next time!

Zendako: One of our favorite food trucks In Beaverton Oregon

In the parking lot of the Beaverton Uwajimaya - of which you should expect future blog post about - you will find a charming little food cart called Zendako. There you can get the yummiest little morsels of goodness. I am talking about the only item they have on the menu... Japanese Takoyaki.

Crispy on the out side, fluffy, creamy, and stuffed with octopus on the inside. The Takoyaki is served in a little paper boat with drizzled of sweet and savory sauces, and then sprinkled with bonito flakes. They are always made to order, and always super fresh. In fact they never seem to cool down enough to eat with out burning the roof of your mouth, so you have be careful, and exercise a little patience... Unlike us, we always burn our mouths, so do as we say. Not as we do.

Though these are less of a meal, and more of a snack they are fun to share with friends. They even offer a fun Russian Roulette Takoyaki! It looks like a normal boat of Takoyaki, but don't be fooled. two of those suckers are loaded with spicy death! Eat at your own risk, and watch your friends splutter and choke. I know that sounds awful, but it's actually quite fun! Expect video proof that we played, and we're still here writing about how awesome this food truck is!

The Zendako offers no seating area, but there is nothing stopping you from going into the Uwajimaya to use their seating area. The people who work the truck are super awesome. They are always so happy to see us. The Takoyaki is reasonably priced - prices will be posted in the link below -, And they even have a stamp card program. I am so excited we almost have a free one! And if that wasn't enough they have free stickers!

We hope that if you are in the area you"ll give these guys a look, and let us know what you think. If you are not in the Beaverton Oregon area, and you never had Takoyaki We highly encourage you to look up one by you, and go give it a try! Let us know how it turns out for you.

Well, We hope you enjoyed our adventure, and it inspires you to try something new today. We gotta hope back on the Dada lane. Until we meet again drive all over everyone's lanes!

Welcome to the Dada Lane

Hi there,
       Welcome to the Dada Lane

We are the Torkavian sisters, and we are van people. We live and adventure in our cute little van Betsy Ross. Our travels took us from the east coast all the way to settle here in Oregon! My sister and I are very different people, but we both love food and adventure, so we decided to try our hand at food blogging.

This blog will include our adventures with food. Here you can learn all about which food trucks are the best bang for your buck, investigating hidden away restaurants, recipes, tips for having meals while living on the road, and so much more.

We hope that you will come along with us on the Dada Lane, and discover the adventurous side with us and in your self!

See you on the road!
